Fund-Raising for Kindersley Pool Receives Boost from Local Business
Raising funds for the Kindersley pool has been a big project for the Kindersley Pool Fund-Raising Committee for the last three years. Since designing several actives in the community, such as the Princess Ball and the Superhero Night for children, the committee has been able to raise around $60,000.
Excited about their success, the Pool Fund-Raising Committee decided to create logos and a website to further their publicity. Contacting JEM Creative, a local marketing company, the committee laid out their plan. “When they approached us with their ideas, I realized I couldn’t pass on this opportunity,” said Jeff Soveran, CEO of JEM Creative. “When I saw the marketing they needed was for fund-raising, I knew we needed to add our support.”
JEM Creative, developed and established in Kindersley, strongly believes in standing behind the community. “When you give to a community, it gives back,” states Soveran. Since its creation in 2011, JEM Creative has been supporting a number of Kindersley’s local interests, including the West Central Crisis and Family Support Centre, West Central Abilities, The KIndersley & District Health & Wellness Foundation, the Kindersley Legion and several local sports teams.
With JEM Creative coming alongside them, the Kindersley Pool Fund-Raising Committee felt an immediate boost. “JEM has been awesome to us,” confirmed Jamie Henry, a member of the committee, “they have taken over all our marketing needs.”
“Not only have they built us a website, designed a logo for us, and taken care of advertising,” listed Henry, “They also suggested that we rename ourselves the ‘Big Dippers’.”
“We are proud to support such an important community project. We’ve been following the progress on the new pool closely and were are happy to lend a hand” added Chris Jones, partner at JEM Creative.
The re-christened Big Dippers have since concocted a plan to pull out their biggest fundraiser yet — Kindersley’s very own Zest of the West. On April 22nd, adults in the Kindersley area can delight their palates with foods and drinks of all kinds. This fundraiser aims to showcase the cookery of Saskatchewan, north to south, east to west. “We will have some Alberta vendors as well,” added Henry, noting that the event is a win-win for everyone involved. “The vendors get to showcase their dishes and the public gets to enjoy themselves; we are looking forward to selling a large amount of tickets.”
JEM Creative plans to support the Big Dippers through this and any future fundraising plans.
